July...

Mom and Joejoe came up the weekend before 4th of July. It was GREAT to have them here. I showed them around to some things they hadn't seen made them do a little hiking. They were troopers, mom didn't like going uphill but she did good. They cooked for me one night, goulosh, roasted corn, and steaks, was amazing! They are so good to me. I was sad to have them go it was good visiting with them. Mom and I talked and laughed a whole lot. I really enjoyed having them here and didn't want them to go.

This weekend was very eventful. I trained to drive and ambulance and my first day on I got to go to a scene. Got my adrenaline going for sure. A bike had swerved to avoid a car and he fell off the bike. He busted his head and broke his collar bone. I got to drive the extra ambulance there back.... was awesome!

Then I went with Patty and Hayle to Red Lodge. The first night we stayed at Roosevelt in the rough rider cabins. We hung out in the Lodge had tea and talked for a few hours. It was really nice and the cabin was too cute. Friday we headed to Red Lodge over the bear took and through Lamar valley. There was a bison carcass with a heard of bison near it. A black bear was trying to get to the carcass and the bison chased him off, the black bear ran like the wind from them. There was also a wolf feeding on the carcass as the bear was trying to get to it. The bear had to go up the hill through the trees to hopefully get to the carcass but we left before we got to see if he made it or not. Then we saw 2 Grizzlies playing a little further down, chasing each other. They were to cute (from far away of course). We drove through the bear tooth and it was gorgeous up in the mountains and there was still lots of snow. Lots of switchbacks, thank goodness Patty was driving. We got to Red Lodge and that is the cutest little town I have ever seen. We did a little shopping there and headed back. On the way back we hit high winds and sleet so I read so I wouldn't panic, Patty did a great job driving through it. We finally got home around 9:45, it was a long day but a great day!

June so far...

Wow I cant believe its almost the end of June, I'm a little  behind.

The weekend of June 4th, Boston and I went on Thursday and did the lower loop of Yellowstone. We stopped at Grant and did the boardwalk there which was beautiful its right next to Lake Yellowstone. Then we headed over to Lake Hotel where we got to see a room and ate at the EDR there, the food was much better there. We went passed fishing bridge out the East entrance and got to see a Grizzly. He walked literally 10 feet from my car, it was amazing. I got some good photos I will post soon. I was so excited, he was awesome. Then we headed up towards Canyon falls and got to see a wolf about 20 feet away, no good pics though he was to fast. We stopped at the lower falls and Boston and I attempted a jumping pic about 20 times I don't think we ever got it right. The Yellowstone Grand Canyon is so beautiful I like it more than the Grand Canyon. Then we headed over to the Norris Geyser Basin, I'm going to have to go back to that one bc it is huge. We did a little bit of it but we were getting tired so we only saw a small portion. On the way back home we saw some red dogs (baby bison) playing.

The next day we hiked Fairy Falls and Mystic falls. Both amazing waterfalls. It was so relaxing and we played on the rocks near Mystic falls.

Weekend of the 11th I got to go to Bozeman and See X Men: First Class, it was awesome!!!! I loved it. I went with Ed and we stayed at the Royal Lucky 7, it looked a little sketch on the outside but was cheap and nice on the inside. We did a little shopping but didn't find anything worth my while. Headed back because I got to go to the Roosevelt Cookout. Every front desk person i the park plus activities got to go. That was so much fun. We road out on carriages pulled-pushed by horses and they served us a steak meal. Best edr meal I have had so far. I ate so much I felt sick but it was work it. They had Roosie beans which had 3 different kinds of beans. They also had corn bread, potato salad, watermelon, cole slaw, cowboy coffee (they put it in a kettle over a fire for 6 hours, its so strong but good) and peach cobbler. We got to hear about how the cook out came about and the history of it. It was a great experience. They also had a man playing old country music on his guitar, really set the mood.

After the Cookout there was some of us that headed out camping. My good friend Patty decided to come along, I'm so glad she did. We got to the campground we wanted to stay at but it was full. So Natasha being the sweet talker she is ask the French kid who was traveling along if we could share his campground with him. He hung out by his (our) fire that night and we drank some wine. Our frenchmen took a pic of our group I think he enjoyed our company. He was really nice and was out to have a good trip.

I forgot we saw two grizzlies that weekend as well. One was playing in the water and the other was just walking not to far from the road.

Weekend of the 18th we went camping 40 miles outside of Cody in the Shoshone National Park. On the way out there we saw 2 grizzlies and 1 cub, he was so cute! The drive out was beautiful where our tent was there was a stream about 5 feet away it was so relaxing. We did a lot of shopping this weekend and I finally got some hiking boots and a day pack.  Spent way to much money but saved about $40 with a coupon... yay! We went to the Irma hotel and watched the nightly shoot out and we also went to the Buffalo Bill Museum. The museum was awesome we spend about 5 hours there. It huge and has a variety of different things. They have the biggest gun collection, a total of I think 2700 guns.

I will try to stay more up to date. Thanks for reading and I miss everyone!

Last 2 weekends

First weekend we went hiking both days. First day we went to Rescue Creek which is about an 8 mile hike. On the way there we saw a gray/black wolf that walked right past our car. He wasn't with a pack. It was an easy hike mostly flat or down hill. On the way back we saw a Grizzly about 90 yards away. That was very exciting. My first bear I have seen in the wild. The next day we hiked Garnet Hill, this also was about an 8 mile hike. This hike was a little more exciting. As we were hiking we saw a moose, we were able to get pretty close and got some great photos. I was so excited. He was just eating would look over at us and then keep eating. We watched him for a good 30 min. Towards the end of the hike we ran into some bison that were not so friendly. We were walking by and they started to stare at us then one of them got up. We had to flee up a steep hill and find a log to cross the creek bc it was to wide to jump. Then we saw a rock with some marmots on it. There was a cute little fat one that came out to say hi. He waddled over to us and looked at us then moseyed away. They were TOO cute. By the end of this hike my calves were wrecked. We climbed a lot of hills on this hike and my calves are certainly not used to that.

Last weekend we went camping at Curtis Canyon in the Tetons near Jackson. Boston and I almost set up the tent by ourselves but unfortunately it was a little confusing and Natasha had to come help us figure it out.  That night we went and had Thai food (was so good I miss it) and hung out by the fire, just had a good time. I rapped and did some of my dance moves to Shoop (if you don't know the song your just not cool). We got up the next morning and headed white water rafting. We rafted the snake river, it was about a 19 mile ride. The first 11 miles was scenic, which was nice learned about Bald Eagles and Osprey. Then the fun began. The second part was 8 miles and we did some class 4 rapids. Sat in the front on some of that ride and got water thrown in my ears and eyes. Then we had pellet sized hail coming at us which hurt when it got you in the eye. On a mellow part Boston, Natasha and I jumped in the water, wow did that wake me up. It was 37 degree water. By the end my hands were numb. When I finally got warm my hands hurt so bad I almost cried. That evening some headed home but got stuck at Grant village bc of the snow and the others camped out another night and watched the sunset. In the morning Natasha and I had to drive around Yellowstone to West to get home to work by 2:30, mind you we woke up at 6AM. It snowed for 4 days and shut down some roads. It was a good little road trip we were able to stop in West and get taco bus, another great meal, YUM! Then we started our week again.

April 26th, 2011

Played Volleyball... we had a blast. It was a recovery workout. My body was sore from the previous days so it was a good way to get my blood flowing and get the lactic acid out of the muscles.

Went down and relaxed in the boiling river. It's about a half a mile walk to the spot you can get in and then a half mile back. I got some movement in from that but other than that I did not work out.

Rescuing Romance

I was watching the Oprah’s All Stars Show on OWN yesterday and there was a question from a lady about rescuing her sex life with her husband. I found it very interesting. You hear about how sex dwindles in marriage, and personally, I find that very sad. I know that it can be exhausting at time but its part of what keeps your relationship healthy. I think that we are sexual beings and should not lose that intimacy with our partner. Here were some of the tips Dr. Phil gave:

  1. Find out what you like in bed, how your needs can be met. If you enjoy it you want to do it more often.
  2. Respect you partners needs. Talk with your partner about each of your needs and how you can fulfill each other needs.
  3. Compromise, its not always what you want or what the other person wants. There has to be a give and take between both of you.
  4. Romance helps keep the fires burning.
  5. Sleep with your clothes off and have sex even if you don’t want too.

Dr. Phil also said “Sex is the most fun you can have without laughing.”

I’m not saying I’m an expert but I just wanted to share with you something that I thought was good information.
